THOUGHTS ON GAME ONE

I think it may turn out to be a good thing that the Stars got whipped a bit in Game 1. Better now than later, and it could prove to be their wake up call.

Remember, the Stars have been playing meaningless games for the past couple of weeks, while the Avs have been playing for position, etc. That intensity carries over...and it can make a big difference (just ask the Red Wings, who have their hands full with the Oilers).

Modano was such a non-factor in the first game...he needs to step it up in a big way. I liked seeing Dallas bring out their physical side in the third period, even though it was all for not...but let's hope they can keep that going (while not getting so carried away that they make stupid mistakes). I thought Turco did a great job...a couple of the goals made him look bad, but they were HUGE defensive breakdowns that he had little to no chance of stopping.

Oh, and let's hope Sunday's trend continues. All four games went to the other team, sending each series to a 1-1 tie.
